SMSHELP! is addressed to aged people and, more in general, to weak people, providing them with an easy and fast way to communicate with relatives and with first assistance services.
Subscribing to the SMSHELP! service, the customer specifies the preferred contacts to be called in case of need. If any emergency occurs, using the speed dial features from the cellular phone (pressing 1 digit), the customer sends simultaneous Text Messages to the pre-defined contacts. The Text Messages is also sent to a Call Center trained for this type of assistance that immediately call back the customer to understand if any other support is required.
In order to subscribe to SMSHELP!, the customer fills a paper or an on-line format with the personal coordinates and notifies till three preferred contacts (relatives/friends) to reach in case of emergency. Among their contacts is automatically set the Customer Service related to the system. To complete the SMSHELP! set-up, the mobile device has to be configured by the Service Point of Assistance. Only at that time the service is operational.
SMSHELP! platform receives the assistance request recognizing the customer mobile number without any cost for the customer and sends an acknowledgment short message: “
SMSHELP!: your contacts has been notified with your request”. Then, SMSHELP! sends a notification to the Call Center Operators and, at the same time, to the customer preferred contacts: “SMSMessagesHELP!: Maria Rossi needs your help”. As soon as the notification is received, the Call-Center operator calls back the customer to provide the requested support.
